There has been a noticeable increase in Dragonball news recently, with updates surrounding Dragonball Super: Beerus, new official social media activity, and the franchise’s upcoming expansion into LEGO. While some developments are confirmed and others remain speculation, there is clearly a lot happening across the franchise as we move further into 2026.
Dragonball Super: Beerus Is Approaching
One of the biggest developments is Dragonball Super: Beerus, which is reportedly set to run for 19 episodes and cover the Beerus, Resurrection ‘F,’ and Champa portions of Dragonball Super. Streaming on Crunchyroll is reportedly scheduled to begin October 11.
The reported episode count is particularly interesting because it suggests a much more condensed approach to this material than the original Dragonball Super television series. With the project revisiting some of the earliest stories from Super, I am interested in seeing how the pacing, animation, and overall presentation compare to what we originally received.
The Official Dragon Ball Account Is Teasing Goku Black
The official English Dragon Ball X account also recently drew attention after posting a manga panel featuring Goku Black alongside the caption, “You’re next....”
There has been no official confirmation that the Future Trunks or Goku Black arc will receive the same treatment as the earlier Dragonball Super material, so I would not consider this an announcement of a remaster. Still, the timing of the post has understandably created speculation about what could potentially follow Dragonball Super: Beerus.
If the project eventually continues into later portions of Super, the Goku Black arc would certainly be one of the most interesting stories to revisit.
Dragonball Is Officially Entering the LEGO World
Another major development is the upcoming LEGO Icons Shenron & Goku set. The set is reportedly scheduled for November 1 and features 1,764 pieces with a listed price of $180. It is also expected to be followed by a broader Dragon Ball Z LEGO theme next year.
For a franchise with as many recognizable locations, vehicles, characters, and objects as Dragonball, there is significant potential for this collaboration to expand. Shenron is a fitting place to begin, but locations such as Kame House, Capsule Corp, the World Tournament arena, and other iconic settings could eventually translate extremely well into LEGO sets.
There Is A Lot To Watch Going Forward
What makes these announcements particularly exciting to me is that Dragonball is expanding in several directions at the same time. The anime is receiving renewed attention, official accounts are creating discussion about what may come next, and major collaborations are introducing the franchise to entirely different markets.
It is important to separate confirmed announcements from fan speculation, especially when it comes to the recent Goku Black post. However, there is no denying that Dragonball has a lot happening right now. With Dragonball Super: Beerus approaching, LEGO Dragonball on the way, and questions surrounding what could follow, the remainder of 2026 is shaping up to be an exciting period for the franchise.
