The DragonBall Daima Finale: A Satisfying End or a Source of More Questions?
Breaking down the final episode of Daima and addressing fan reactions.
An Ending That Left an Impact
Now that Dragon Ball Daima has officially ended, fans are split on whether the finale was a masterpiece or a missed opportunity. For me, I loved it. The balance of action, slice-of-life moments, and lingering mysteries felt like something Toriyama himself would have enjoyed. It gave us everything from an explosive fight to a moment of humor and a shocking last-second reveal. But while I personally felt satisfied, many fans walked away with lingering questions. Did Daima truly deliver on its promises? Or did it leave too much unresolved? Let’s break it all down.
Super Saiyan 4 Goku vs. Demon King Gomah – A Visual Spectacle
One of the first signs that this finale was going to be special was the fact that it skipped the intro sequence. That alone meant business. We started right where we left off—with Goku, now in his full-sized Super Saiyan 4 form, squaring off against Demon King Gomah. And let me tell you, the fight delivered in every possible way.
From the moment Naotoshi Shida’s beautifully animated sequences kicked in, we were treated to an absolute spectacle of hand-to-hand combat. Goku was landing powerful blows, dodging attacks effortlessly, and displaying why SSJ4 is such a fan-favorite transformation. But, of course, Gomah wasn’t going down that easily. Thanks to the Tertian Oculus, he was able to regenerate from every single hit, making it seem like Goku’s devastating attacks meant nothing.
The Most Incredible Kamehameha in Dragon Ball History?
Then came the moment that left my jaw on the floor—Goku’s final Kamehameha.
At one point in the fight, Goku lifted his wrist up, his silver aura glowing, making it seem like we were about to see the legendary Dragon Fist. But instead, we got a Kamehameha that ripped through Gomah and blasted through three different parts of the Demon Realm. The visual of the crater forming in the sky with water pouring through was one of the most breathtaking sequences in all of Dragon Ball.
Of course, Gomah’s regeneration meant he was able to recover, but this was where the other fighters had to step in. Piccolo attempted to knock the evil Third Eye from Gomah’s forehead but was stopped before his third strike. This led to the final chain of events where Majin Kuu saw his opening, landed three precise hits to the back of Gomah’s head, and ultimately knocked the Third Eye loose. From there, Gomah returned to normal size, and the eye was destroyed by Glorio, bringing an end to the battle.
A Poetic Conclusion and an Unexpected Twist
After all the action, Daima slowed things down with some well-earned slice-of-life moments. Majin Kuu was crowned the new Demon King, with Arinsu taking on the role of Vice Demon Queen. The team shared their goodbyes, ready to return home via Panzy’s transport. It was a fitting and heartfelt way to wrap up the adventure.
But then came the twist ending that no one saw coming.
In the final moments, the team stops at the shop that was selling Medi Bugs and Fusion Bugs. What started as a fun, lighthearted scene turned into something shocking when the shopkeeper casually revealed that they had two more Evil Third Eyes for sale. Not only that, but they had already sold one a while back. The expressions on the team’s faces said it all—what they thought was a one-time battle may have only been the beginning.
Unanswered Questions: What Fans Wanted to See
While I found the ending satisfying, many fans were left with lingering questions and disappointments. Here are some of the biggest concerns:
Why Weren’t the Fusion Bugs Used?
From the moment they were introduced, Fusion Bugs had fans speculating about a never-before-seen fusion in Daima. Many assumed that they were foreshadowing some kind of epic combination in the final battle. Yet, in the end, they played no role at all. Was this just Toriyama trolling fans, or was it simply an idea that never led to anything significant? We may never know.
Why Didn’t Vegeta Go Super Saiyan 4?
Given that Daima was directly inspired by GT, many believed that Vegeta would follow Goku’s lead and unlock SSJ4. Not only did this not happen, but we never even got a true explanation for why. Would it have been too soon to introduce SSJ4 Gogeta? Was Vegeta simply not meant to have this form in Daima? These are questions that some fans felt deserved answers.
Why Didn’t Daima End by Connecting to Dragon Ball Super?
With Daima dropping huge lore reveals about the Supreme Kai, Majin Rymus (the creator of the multiverse), and deep Namekian history, many expected some kind of bridge into the events of Dragon Ball Super. Instead, the series ended with no real indication of how it fits into the larger timeline. This has led to speculation that Daima might exist as its own separate continuity, disconnected from Super entirely.
Where’s the Next Dragon Ball Announcement?
Dragon Ball fans are used to big announcements at the end of major projects, but Daima ended with no indication of what’s next. While this isn’t entirely surprising (big reveals usually happen at Jump Festa or other major events), it still left some fans feeling like they expected more. Will we get a new anime announcement soon? Only time will tell.
Final Thoughts: A Fitting Farewell to Daima
While Dragon Ball Daima ended with more questions than answers, I personally found the finale incredibly satisfying. It delivered everything I love about Dragon Ball—epic fights, stunning animation, hilarious Toriyama humor, and a twist that leaves us wanting more.
Yes, some fan expectations weren’t met, but that’s part of what makes Dragon Ball exciting—it always keeps us guessing. Whether Daima remains a standalone series or somehow connects to Super in the future, one thing is for sure: it was an unforgettable journey.
What did you think of the finale? Did it live up to your expectations, or do you still have questions that need answering? Let’s talk about it!
I mean I enjoyed the ending I mean yes we have more questions than answers but this is just what toriyama does but the last episode was incredible super Saiyan 4 Goku just iconic I mean the animation of this episode I really have no words for it but I'm satisfied that we got anything dragon Ball to begin with so no they didn't tell us anything this is just another one of the Great dragon Ball mysteries like we still don't even know how Goku and Vegeta became super Saiyan 3 that's another one toriyama has always left his fans wanting more and this is just another example or he could be trolling as well because he has been known to do that but either way I'm satisfied I'm just ready to see what they drop next
